Weapons are an item used in BattleBlock Theater.
Overview[]
A Weapon is unlocked by collecting Yarn. Bring 5 Yarn to the security Cat Guard in the Gift Shop inside the portal to bribe the guard. In exchange, he will bestow a random Weapon for the player. Weapons can be equipped on the Character Customization screen.
Each weapon has its own merits and uses. Obviously, most Weapons' purposes are to damage enemy (such as igniting or blowing others up). However, some others can be used to help traverse a level, such as providing a platform or a large jump. These weapons tend to be much safer and helpful for completing a level, but are virtually useless on modes where you must actually kill others. Lastly, there is the miscellaneous group. These Weapons are vastly different from every other weapon, as they provide benefits no other group does. This includes reflecting/absorbing projectiles or freezing the opponent. These weapons tend to be hit or miss; some are good, some are bad.
Below is a list of Weapons a player can obtain.
Group 1[]

Trivia[]
- It costs 60 yarn in total to unlock every weapon.
- The Dart Gun, Forceball, Dodgeball, Fan, Ice and Boomerang cannot kill on their own. However they can be used to indirectly cause death by knocking you into hazards.
- When playing arena or when dealing with cats spitting out weapons, its good to know about offensive/defensive moves you can do against them. You can slide in to grendaes to knock them back to the opponent, you can shove grenades upwards, you can spike grenades and Acid Bubbles to make them go down, you can kick Acid Bubbles to make them go backwards, you can uppercut Acid Bubbles to go up really fast.
- The Frog's hat and tie are colored indigo in artwork, which is interesting because this color is not available for players to use, and the color of those things is determined by the color of the player that threw it.
- The Frog is also set off by coming into contact with Lasers.
- The Forceball and Fireball's animation looks similar to the Hadouken from Street Fighter.
- Fan and Vacuum are the only two weapons that require you to hold the weapon button down for them to work as intended, and they also are the only weapons that can be spammed in regular gameplay, although this doesn't do anything besides make a bunch of noise.
- weapon-Throwing Cats have strange behaviors when set on fire:
- They will run around in random directions when set ablaze.
- If they touch water while on fire, they will bounce, but they also still die from the fire, despite it being put out.
- If they touch a Buzzsaw while they are on fire, they will die, but their body will continue to run around forever, maintaining its charred color but not the fire itself. However it can still set you on fire if you touch it, but strangely, it can only do this to the host in an online game.
- Collecting all weapons grants the "Armed and Dangerous" achievement.
- There are 2 unused weapons that do absolutely nothing when thrown. These are referred to as Fake Discs, due to displaying a Flying Disc in your hand by default when trying to throw them. These weapons have the IDs 13 and 14.
