The robot, also known as Missile_Robot in the files, is a ingame enemy. It counts as both an enemy and a hazard.
Gameplay Aspect[]
When sensing the player, the robot will shoot missiles from its mouth at them. These missiles will follow the player until either hitting a dead end or the player, blowing them into pieces and killing them instantly.
The player can stun the robot by punching it three times, hitting it with an explosive weapon, an acid bubble or leading a missile back into it. The robot will then reactivate a short time later and continue to shoot missiles at the player. If you can't get past a robot or a horde of them in a level, it's best to stun one or more to buy yourself some time for escape.
It cannot be permanently killed in any way, so you have to try and avoid it
Appearance[]
The robot is a military-esque machine with a long cylindrical head and one round screen for an eye; usually blue, but flashing red and yellow when sensing a player or sending out a missile. The blue screen becomes much duller and momentarily turns off when the robot is stunned.
It moves on tracks similar to that of a tank, and rattles around whilst moving or launching a missile. Its missiles resemble small rockets.
Trivia[]
- Its design and missile-sending properties may be taking inspiration from the bazooka, a rocket-launching weapon developed to fight against tanks.
- If it is placed in the air, it will glide down to the ground, which makes no sense considering it's a giant robot.
- It can't move if it is submerged in water, but it can still attack.
